March 2020 Update
about 4 years ago – Fri, Mar 13, 2020 at 08:56:54 PM

Hi everyone,

first of all hope everyone is staying safe. Really strange times we seem to be going through at the moment, hopefully this is dissipate away and things get back to normal in the near future.

It has been a month or so since the last update so I wanted to catch everyone up on the latest developments with MARNAUT.

Good news is that the factories that we need are running and have been up and running for a while. I have ordered the leather straps, nato straps, and changing tool. We are working on the mesh bracelets for those of you who have ordered them.

***Please note: Those who have added the mesh bracelet to their orders, credit cards have now been charged for the mesh bracelets. If you have received a message that the payment could not be processed please update your card info.

I have got the ball rolling with packaging, pleased with how that is going to look.  Regarding the watch we are at the case development stage, the dial has been ordered as well as the hands.

We will still need to see a production sample prior to giving the go ahead with the full production. What we had on the campaign was a working prototype - fully functioning and water resistant etc, a very good representation of what will be done but the production sample is important as once that is signed off then we run the whole production.

At this moment I still envision a June delivery, if anything changes I will let everyone know.

I will be in touch in the next weeks, until then stay safe and best regards to all,

Mario

Feb 2020 Update
over 4 years ago – Tue, Feb 04, 2020 at 06:05:49 PM

Hi everyone,

just wanted to give you all an update. The surveys have gone out and so far we are about 90% complete. For those yet to complete the survey please do so asap so we can lock in the final tally. Thank you all for getting those back to me.

As I said before the real work begins now, it is time to hunker down and focus on getting a great production done. I will be in touch along the way and share updates sporadically.

Thanks and best regards to all,

Mario

Next Steps - Backerkit Survey coming soon
over 4 years ago – Tue, Jan 28, 2020 at 12:00:38 AM

Thank you for making our project a reality! A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.

First, Kickstarter needs to transfer over the funds so we have the money to make the rewards (this can take up to two weeks).

Second, we have to gather early bird selection, shipping addresses and see who would like to add-on a mesh bracelet to their Seascape. We’ll send out a BackerKit survey to collect this information.

We’ll give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.

If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

If you prefer, you can contact me directly and give me your information, but answering your survey help us get your rewards out to you faster. BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact me.

Again, thanks for all your support. We can’t wait to send you your Marnaut timepieces.

Best regards and speak soon,

Mario

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
over 4 years ago – Fri, Jan 24, 2020 at 11:11:45 PM

Well, what can I say but THANK YOU!

We are a tiny company with an idea for a watch design we believe deserves to be made. Without this platform and without your support we could not do it. There are no investors, no loans, no big money behind it just our commitment and perseverance to produce a watch people can be proud to wear and show off.

In the next week I will be sending you guys and gals a survey which will get everything organised for us on the back end such as delivery addresses etc. It is VERY important that they are completed. Along in that survey I will also be sending the option to add a mesh bracelet with your order.

After that is complete it is time for us to get to work. Case development, bezel development, crowns, ordering movements, testing, packaging finalisation, straps, inserts and the list goes on.  This is not my first time around doing full development and I feel everyone will get a watch they will appreciate.

Along the way I will be sharing parts of the journey and development process and keep everyone updated. We will be dispatching the watches to you in June.

***On a side note....I was actually in Norway these last few days with a friend of mine and it was fantastic. The Seascape did not miss a beat and performed brilliantly.

Thanks again, speak soon and best regards!
